Arriving near our Surfers Paradise family accommodation this April, the Festival of Film, Music and Dance is guaranteed to be an exciting event for all the family in sunny Surfers Paradise.
Taking place over two days, this unmissable event will celebrate everything film-related, music-related and dance-related on the Gold Coast with a program that’s going to be nothing short of explosive!
The Festival of Film, Music and Dance will arrive hand-in-hand with the 2019 Gold Coast Film Festival, and will bring Surfers Paradise Beach to life with an incredible concert by the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra. They’ll be performing musical themes from famous films that you know and love - on the sand and next to the ocean! It’s a merging of film, music and location that’s not to be missed, and will also include additional performances from Eisteddfod-grade school bands and local dance groups for all to marvel at.
Bolstering the event will be 2019’s SIPFest - an evening of 14 cinematic short films on Surfers Paradise Beach. Audiences of all ages will be invited to enjoy some of the best-made short films from both Australian and international directors with the opportunity to cast a vote for their favourite! B.OLD will also join in the fun with a showcasing of independent short films about ageing by eight different filmmaking teams each awarded $10,000.
Concluding the Festival of Film, Music and Dance will be two family-friendly screenings of Dance Academy: The Movie and Strictly Ballroom, which will be showing under the stars on Surfers Paradise Beach - a perfect evening of chilled entertainment!
Don’t miss the Festival of Film, Music and Dance in Surfers Paradise on April 6 and April 7 with Aloha Apartments.
